Get ready...

Works are progressing really well and are well underway.  Horden Centennial Centre is due to open it's doors at the end of October.

 



Get ready for Café 100, the Resource Hub, cinema, conference hall, performance stage, board room, Free WiFi and modern environmentally friendly facilities - A centre for regeneration offering  community events, activities, services and spaces to hire which will bring the community together under one roof and where people can realise their potential and work together to regenerate Horden.

Work starts on site!

Refurbishment works are now underway.  Bishop Auckland firm, Vest Construction Limited have been awarded the contract to carry out the project over the next four months.

If everything runs to plan, we expect Horden Centennial Centre to open its doors and begin its mission to regenerate the numbered streets and help residents realise their potential in October this year.

Coffee and Cakes...

Big thanks to the Roseby Road Wellbeing Centre for hosting a fundraising pamper coffee morning which raised a few quid for the Centennial Centre due to open in October.

Barbara ran yoga tasters and Lisa offered free hand and nail massage.

Eunice organised a raffle and our volunteers served coffee and cakes - including Audrey who baked, served and sold on the day.  Many thanks.

And everyone else who came and supported.

Spring Cleaning!

Getting ready for the refurb.  With support from Accent Foundation and the Helping Hands team, Centennial Centre volunteers filled a skip and several vans with rubbish and unwanted items accumulated over the decades.

Proud Past - Positive Future

The Community Hall has been at the heart of Horden for over 100 years.  We hope the refurb will preapre it for the next 100 years.  The best is yet to come...

 

 

 

 

Every Penny Counts

 

A BIG thank you to Eunice, George and Michael who went door knocking tonight around Horden tonight to raise funds for the Hall.

And thanks to the generous residents of Horden who donated and wished us well.

There'll be another collection this Saturday in Peterlee Town Centre between 10am and 2pm before we know how much has been raised.  Come and give us your support.

The Hall's refurbishment is now scheduled to start in June this year and will be opened in time for Christmas and St Mary's 100th anniversary.

New Logo Unveiled

Happy New Year!  2013 has arrived and will see St Mary's Community Hall refurbished as Horden's Centennial Centre.  Works are on schedule to start in Spring.

We are planning new signage and with it a new logo which celebrates 100 years at the heart of Horden...
