Horden in Old Photos

The Shadow Management Group held a fundraising event today with hundreds of old photos kindly on loan from Horden's Heritage Centre capturing Horden and Horden people from the last 100 years.

Lots of residents gave their support to share their memories and enjoy home baking thanks to the group's volunteers.  The community event raised £135 which will go towards refurbishing the hall.

Above: Some of the photos on display.  Residents sat down to a documentary film on Horden and the Horden Colliery Banner was also on show thanks to Robert Dowson and the Banner Society.



Plans for the Hall refurbishment were also on display.  A decision on the £500,000 Big Lottery Fund application is expected in September.

Who said nostalgia isn't what it used to be!
