Charity begins in Horden

Over the last two years, volunteers involved in the Community Hall have been working to refurbish the building and turn it into a centre for regeneration.

With support from the Parish Church Council, a working group of volunteers and agency representatives made an application to the Big Lottery which successfully passed stages one and two of the Lottery's application process.  A shadow management group was formed earlier this year and today, with a funding decision pending, another application was made to the Charity Commission for the group to become Horden's newest charity.

If funds are secured to refurbish the Hall, it will be managed by the management committee of Horden Centennial Centre with St Mary's Church acting as landlord.
